Erg Chegaga (or Chigaga) is one of the two great Saharan ergs in Morocco, the other being Erg Chebbi. Morocco's largest erg, the dunes of Chigaga are an imposing sight. Erg Chigaga This dune massif in the Souss-Massa-Drâa region lies around 50 km west of the rural commune of M'Hamid El Ghizlane, itself around 98 km south of the town of Zagora.

Some 40 km long and 15 km wide, this erg, some of whose dunes are around 300 m high (170 m for Erg Chebbi), is the largest and wildest in Morocco. Due to its relatively difficult access, which is only possible by 4x4, camel or on foot, Erg Chigaga is less popular than Erg Chebbi.
